Ghana is taking the right steps to achieve the goal of becoming the sub-region’s aviation hub. The Secretary-General of the Africa Civil Aviation Commission (ACAC) Iyabo Sosina said that “Ghana has done a lot in terms of positioning itself to be a hub in West Africa, and we believe that they are on the way to achieving that.
They are doing the right things because the inadequacies in the system are being corrected especially the huge terminal that is coming up to take care of transit passengers,” the secretary general pointed out.

Raphael Kuuchi, Vice President Africa International Air Transport Association (IATA), projected that passenger traffic in Africa will grow at 5.7 percent per annum over the next 20 years. He said this growth is being driven by the youthful population on the continent which also constitutes a large part of the growing Middle Class with disposable income.
“In Ghana, the air transport market will continue its strong growth that we have seen in the last several years,” he added.
