What is IMEI Number?
The IMEI number is used by a GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used for stopping a stolen phone from accessing that network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call their network provider and instruct them to “blacklist” the phone using its IMEI number.
How can I check my phone IMEI number?
> As with most GSM phones, you can find your IMEI by opening your dialer and typing *#06# using the keypad.
> The unique number will be displayed as soon as you press the second number sign.
> The number is also found in Settings > About Device > Status.
