Nigeria Customs impounds 64 cars valued at N1.528bn in Lagos, Ogun

The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, have impounded a total of 64 brand new exotic cars allegedly smuggled into the country by criminals. These cars were seized within a space of three weeks in Lagos and Ogun State and are worth over N1.528,200 billion.

About Three weeks ago Operative from the FOU arrested about 37 exotic vehicles valued at about N1.3 billion. Not relenting, The operatives again stormed some border communities in Lagos and Ogun states where they impounded another 27 exotic cars that were allegedly smuggled into the country by criminals.

This recent seizure sums it to 64 Sport Utility Vehicles so far impounded by the operatives within three weeks with the value put at about N228.215 million.

The Controller, FOU ZOne A Comptroller Mohammed Uba Garba while briefing Newsmen disclosed that the seizures were made after days of painstaking and discreet investigation. The Vehicles were recovered from auto stands in Lagos and Ogun States respectively.
