Regional postal service provider, POST Luxembourg, will be DHL Parcel’s newest partner in the logistics giant’s “Parcel Connect” service, which aims to capitalize on inter-European trade, especially of e-commerce cargo.
The services will initially be limited to imports from Europe to Luxembourg, but “in a second phase,” will begin offering exports from Luxembourg to various European hubs. DHL Parcel says that customers can expect improved transit times to Luxembourg, and access to more service points and parcel stations.
Clients are also allowed the option to adjust delivery dates and offer returns without additional costs to recipients. The service notifies shippers via e-mail or short message service (SMS) upon delivery.
Hjoerdis Stahl, deputy managing director of POST Luxembourg and director of POST Courrier, says that the organization intends to increase the volume it handles at its national sorting center in the new partnership.
“The cooperation with DHL Parcel, and as a member of the DHL Parcel Europe network, also emphasizes the positioning of POST Luxembourg in the logistics area, in which we see good opportunities for growth,” he said.
