Lagosians forge access roads as fuel crisis worsen, create chaotic traffic

Motorists create several traffic lanes to beat logjam and got stuck along Epe-Lagos expressway

Access to Lagos from the Epe-Lagos highway was blocked as early as 5 am this morning, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 as a serious traffic began to build up.

Moov Logistics News correspondent, who was at the scene reported that the situation at the VGC junction what most palpable. Motorists trying to outdo each other to get out of the traffic melee created their own lanes, blocking the traffic from the opposite direction in the process.

As of 6 am the traffic had stretched more than three kilometres long on both directions of the expressway. The few officials of the state traffic management agency and policemen on the ground were overwhelmed by the situation.

Commuters came down from buses and embarked on long treks or cram available commercial motorcycles to get out of the traffic logjam
