M<\/span>ed-View<\/strong> Airline has announced it has begins flight services to Abidjan, Cote d\u2019 Ivoire; Conakry, Guinea; and Dakar, Senegal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Med-view commenced flight services into Francophone West Africa with its Boeing 737-500 as part of its expansion plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Med-View Airline is an airline based in Lagos, Nigeria. The airline was founded in 2007 as a charter airline, mainly operating Haji flights, and has offered domestic passenger services since November 2012. It now operates international flights to London, Dubai and West Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the flag-off ceremony, the President of Guinea, Alassane Ouattara, stressed the importance of integration, adding that the Nigerian airline had become a veritable tool to bring Africans together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ouattara was represented by the General Manager, Autorit\u00e9 Nationale de l\u2019Aviation Civile, Mr. Sinaly Silue, at the airport, who said that Nigeria and\u00a0Cote d\u2019 Ivoire would learn from one another.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI hope Med-View will be our company. It is evident you are bringing people together and we cannot do that without transport, especially air transport.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is how we should build Africa; your concern is our concern and our concern yours. You can learn from us and we will learn from you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Director of Civil Aviation, Guinea, Mr. Mamady Kaba, said Med-View had fulfilled part of the Yamoussoukro Declaration of 1988, on principles of air services within the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are happy that out of six airlines in Nigeria, Med-View has chosen to make a case for francophone West African countries,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nigeria\u2019s Ambassador to Guinea, Bala Mariga, described the development as historic and something to be proud of.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI pray this will go on for generations to come. When we were coming here, we came through a foreign airline and today, I am proud that we have our airline here. This will help Nigerians to invest in Guinea and vice versa,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ambassador of Guinea to Nigeria, <\/span>Gaossou Toure, also described Med-View as a dynamic airline capable of bringing about the <\/span>liberalization of airspace, adding that the aim of the company was to integrate ECOWAS.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe chairman has explained that air transport is a passion for him and Guinea is happy to open West Africa and Africa to the rest of the world,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ambassador of Senegal to Nigeria, Abubakar Samb, who accompanied the airline on the journey, said\u00a0 Med-View would help ease trade within the sub-region as well as deepen the partnership.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Managing Director and Chairman of Med-View Airline, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, said he was optimistic that the integration would bring about peace, harmony and economic prosperity.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u201cOur fathers who set up ECOWAS to integrate all members into one family had <\/span>vision and a plan. We are making that come to pass. This is the beginning of a big relationship as we are going to integrate all of West Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n
