Barely few weeks Standard Gauge Rail Service was commissioned in Kenya, The railways service has planned to unveil a new online ticket payment platform by Monday Next week. This is to ensure convenience while travelling for all customers and also a relief to many passengers who had complained about the lack of booking and online payment systems.
The railways has also revealed that seven thousand customers have so far traveled on the newly launched Madaraka Express between Mombasa and Nairobi, the highest number ever recorded in one week.
The first phase of the Standard Gauge Rail service, which was launched by President Kenyatta, is currently operating with scheduled passenger trains from Nairobi and Mombasa running on a daily basis.
